C is for Culture

Experiencing another culture and heritage is a great way to gain an understanding of how that particular country has reached it’s current point.

Recently on my travels, I have made it a point for myself to make sure I visited a museum / heritage centre while there, to help gain a better understanding of the culture. They have all been extreme eye openers.

Some of my favourites have been;

  • The Chinatown Heritage Centre in Singapore

  • The Titanic Museum in Belfast, Northern Ireland

  • The Famine Cottages in Dingle, Ireland

  • The GPO in Dublin, Ireland

These types of places will really show you just how tough life was back then. The struggles of day to day life, the injustice they faced and the living standards will no doubt leave a long lasting impact on you. It will make you think, ”How the hell did they cope with everything”

These places are well and truly worth visiting. Leaving you feeling appreciative of the cultural experience as well as feeling educated. For me, I always feel like I have changed on the inside after I walked away from the experience. I am sure that I will have similar experiences from the cultural centres I visit in China.

I hope this blog has inspired you to take a cultural adventure on your next journey.
