While cleaning up at home, I was keeping an eye out for any messages from the real estate agents in Shanghai. Finally in the afternoon, I received a message with another to look at. This 4th floor apartment is located in a older building with no lift. It is a plain, clean apartment and good location. However, as it has no lift, the only way up and down is by stairs. The thought of walking up and down the stairs with all my gear is very off putting. Secondly is the price. With the price of RMB8000 per month I feel that it is well over priced. Especially when I have seen a nicer apartment with a lift and has a cheaper price.
I really feel like the agent pushing up the price so he can receive a better commission. Also after speaking to another agent in shanghai, the average market rate at this time for an apartment like this in that particular area is approximately RMB7000 per month. Thank goodness that I am not just relying on this agent. I will still go and look at this apartment but I do have an eye on a previous apartment.
